Description
The Patrick D. Singer Memorial Fund is an endowed scholarship fund in memory of the late Patrick Singer, Tatnall Class of 1974. Patrick was a cherished member of the Tatnall community, whose unfailing kindness was an inspiration to his classmates and friends.
The Patrick D. Singer '74 Kindness Award
As part of this Endowed Fund, the school has created The Patrick D. Singer '74 Kindness Award to be announced and given each Founder's Day (starting in 2024). The inscription is below:
"The Patrick D. Singer '74 Kindness Award is named in memory of Patrick D. Singer, Tatnall Class of 1974, whose legacy of kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering optimism continues to inspire all. This award celebrates a member of the graduating class who exemplifies these enduring qualities, spreading the light and positivity throughout our community."
Award Criteria
Awarded to a member of each graduating class
Award to be presented during the Founder's Day Ceremony each year (Friday before Homecoming, Patrick's favorite alumni event)
Nominees will be selected by and voted on by faculty in May/June
Recipient receives a $2,500 Scholarship
A permanent plaque will be commissioned to hang in the Beekley Building
Recipient will also receive a commemorative and inscribed piece of pottery from Patrick's favorite artist, Chilmark Pottery in West Tisbury, MA.
Where does my donation go?
The Patrick Singer Fund has been seeded by a generous gift from Patrick's estate. All subsequent donations will help grow the corpus of the endowed fund, which will generate interest in perpetuity to be used for the purposes of the Kindness Award Scholarship and other potential investments in Tatnall to honor Patrick's memory.
